Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with Sarawak Skills

In a significant stride towards fostering innovation and nurturing talent in Sarawak's dynamic landscape, UAS Mapping proudly announces its Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with Sarawak Skills, a premier institution dedicated to skills development and industry readiness. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in the region's journey towards harnessing cutting-edge technology and empowering its workforce for the challenges of tomorrow.

At the heart of this collaboration lies a shared vision to synergize expertise and resources in various domains, ranging from talent development to joint research initiatives and the provision of customized Industry 4.0 solutions. Mr. Hallman bin Sabri, Sarawak Skills' Executive Director and Chairman of the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC), emphasizes the strategic significance of these initiatives. He states, "These strategic initiatives pave the way for Sarawak Skills and our strategic partners to synergize substantial expertise and resources in various areas covering the broad spectrum of talent development, joint research initiatives, consultation services, and providing customized Industry 4.0 solutions to industries across the length and breadth of Sarawak."

The formalization of these strategic relationships aligns seamlessly with the Sarawak Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030, underlining a collective commitment towards propelling Sarawak into a developed state by 2030. This collaborative endeavor exemplifies stakeholders working in unison to advance the noble cause of talent development and transform the socio-economic landscape of not just Sarawak but Malaysia as a whole.

As part of this partnership, UAS Mapping and Sarawak Skills introduce a comprehensive training program focused on Underground Utility Detection Mapping (UUDM). Targeted at surveyors, contractors, and individuals keen on enhancing their skills in this critical domain, the course spans five days and equips participants with essential knowledge and practical insights.

The training program integrates state-of-the-art equipment including Electro Magnetic Locators (EML), Ground Penetration Radars (GPR), and Horizontal Directional Drilling Mapping utilizing Gyroscopic Navigation. Participants gain hands-on experience in utilizing these advanced tools, enabling them to accurately map underground utilities and mitigate potential risks associated with excavation and construction projects.

By offering this specialized course, UAS Mapping and Sarawak Skills are not only addressing a crucial skill gap in the industry but also empowering individuals with the expertise needed to navigate complex infrastructure projects safely and efficiently. This initiative underscores a commitment to lifelong learning and continuous upskilling, essential elements in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Moreover, this collaboration serves as a testament to the power of partnerships in driving innovation and fostering sustainable growth. By leveraging each other's strengths and resources, UAS Mapping and Sarawak Skills are poised to make significant contributions to the advancement of Sarawak's economy and the overall development agenda of Malaysia.

In conclusion, the MOUs between UAS Mapping and Sarawak Skills signify a landmark partnership aimed at catalyzing talent development and technological advancement in Sarawak. Through joint initiatives like the Underground Utility Detection Mapping course, this collaboration promises to equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly complex and competitive global landscape. As Sarawak charts its course towards becoming a developed state by 2030, such partnerships will play a pivotal role in shaping its future trajectory and fostering inclusive growth for all its stakeholders.
