Terrestrial & Mobile Scanning

GLS-2000

Handheld Paracosm PX-80

At UAS, we adopt a unique workflow of combining a terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) and handheld laser scanner to measure and capture environments in 3D with speed and accuracy. While a tripod-based TLS like Topcon’s GLS-2000 can capture 3D data at accuracies down to the millimetre, it is slow to operate and can be difficult to set-up in space-constraint areas. On the other hand, a handheld laser scanner like Paracosm’s PX-80 may offer lower accuracy (1-3 cm) than a TLS, but captures 3D data nearly 10 times faster and can access even the tightest of spaces. We utilise both technologies, in tandem or by themselves, to provide clients with the most cost-effective and complete scan solution – the GLS-2000 for accuracy-critical areas, and the PX-80 for time-critical big-picture information.

Our experienced laser scanning team is committed to provide the most efficient and effective scanning solution to fit your project requirements and deadlines. Currently, our scanning services have been used for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to topographic survey, strata title survey, asset inventory, volume analysis of stockpiles, and construction verification. At UAS, we believe 3D laser scanning is the future of spatial data acquisition as it is able to capture data at greater speed, accuracy, and detail compared with traditional methods.

Using our suite of point cloud software, including Geo-Plus’ powerful VisionLiDAR, we deliver results such as the following to our clients:

  • RGD-colourised point clouds

  • Textured mesh

  • Digital surface models (DSM)

  • Digital terrain models (DTM)

  • 2D/3D as-built drawings

  • Fully workable 3D models, including BIM models

  • Realistic fly-through visualisations (see Sarawak Museum)
