Construction verification of the new Sarawak Museum

Sarawak Museum

The new Sarawak Museum complex boast some impressive statistics – at 31,000 m2, it is Malaysia largest museum and the second largest in Southeast Asia. Topping this impressive structure is a dramatic gold arched roof which came with its share of complicated roofing works and renovations. UAS was engaged to perform construction verification of the distinctive roof installation. We employed a combination of photogrammetry, ground survey, and mobile laser scanning to create a 3D reconstruction of the complex and its roof.  Controls were set using a total station around the premises and the tips of the roof structure.
